A class that will focus on weight-loss, learning to eat the right food and learning the right amounts of foods to eat will be offered at some point this fall/winter.  Keep your eyes open for the dates and the costs of the program.  Call me if you are interested in a weight loss program!

Senior Exercises

We have started the Fall 2004 weekly exercise group.  There is no cost to attend!  We meet on Tuesdays, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Upper Room.  These exercises are low impact, slightly challenging, and tons of fun!  Come and join us!  Call me to register.  All ages encouraged to take part in this event.
 

Blood Pressure Screenings available for the Church and the Luverne Community

Blood pressures check for 2004 include the following:

·         The 4th Tuesday of the month, from 11am to 12 noon at the Senior Dining Center

·         Monthly blood pressure screenings following the UMW meetings on the first Wednesday of the month from 3:00pm to 3:30pm

·         Once a month the 3rd Monday of the month, at the Jasper meal site .  Call Tammy at (507) 920-7653 for the specific date and time.

·         Every other month screenings after the 9:00am Worship Service at Luverne United Methodist Church.

·         One-on-One screenings per request.  Call Tammy at (507) 920-7653 to schedule

Parish Nurse Project

Monthly meetings with some of our confirmation students in providing them with a venue for obtaining social justice hours. Examples of previous projects include:

-Delivering an evening meal to some of our community's shut-ins

-Delivering flowers to some of our community members

-Christmas Caroling at some of the area senior apartments, and area nursing homes.

-Sending care packages to new freshman college students

Pastoral Gatherings
